We offer three levels of in-office whitening, Pearl, Marble and Diamond, and all three can be done immediately after your scale and polish. One appointment leaves your teeth clean, polished and visibly brighter.
Why choose professional whitening?
Whitening toothpastes and over-the-counter kits mostly remove surface stains, and they can't be tailored to your teeth. Professional whitening is different:
- It's carried out by a dental professional after checking that your teeth and gums are healthy
- A light-activated whitening gel works in minutes rather than weeks
- The treatment is matched to your starting shade and the result you want
- Your enamel and gums are cared for throughout
Whitening that cares for your enamel
Our whitening system goes beyond brightening. The gel contains nano-hydroxyapatite, a mineral that closely mirrors the natural structure of your enamel, together with a vitamin complex. During treatment, these work alongside the whitening action to help replenish and protect the enamel surface.
The gel also works in short cycles of just a few minutes, which limits the dehydration that can make teeth feel sensitive after traditional whitening. The result is a brighter smile and teeth that feel smooth, comfortable and cared for.
Clean and white in one visit
Whitening works best on freshly cleaned teeth, because plaque and tartar block the gel from reaching your enamel evenly. That's why every whitening option at Dental Matters can be done straight after your scale and polish. There's no second appointment and no waiting: you leave with teeth that are both professionally cleaned and visibly whiter.
Our whitening options
Pearl: Brighten (entry level)
A quick 10-minute whitening treatment that adds a fresh, brighter finish to your scale and polish. It's ideal for a pre-event refresh or for trying whitening for the first time. Pearl uses a gentle, low-strength gel and is a comfortable choice if you're worried about sensitivity.
Marble: Transform (mid-range)
Our most popular option for a noticeably whiter smile. Marble is an intensive in-office treatment done in three short cycles, taking about 30 minutes in the chair. No special preparation is needed, and results are deeper and longer-lasting than Pearl.
Diamond: Ultimate (premium)
Our most advanced whitening treatment, taking about 60 minutes, for the most dramatic results and for stubborn or deep-set discolouration that other options can't shift. Your gums are protected with a professional barrier while a medical-grade whitening gel is applied over several cycles. Diamond is our top recommendation for weddings, special occasions, or anyone who wants maximum brightness.

Which option is right for me?
If you're new to whitening or just want a brighter finish to your cleaning, Pearl is a great place to start. If you want a clearly visible change, choose Marble. If your teeth are heavily stained or you want the best possible result, Diamond is designed for you. We'll assess your teeth at your appointment and recommend the option that suits your goals.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, when it's carried out by a dental professional. Our whitening system uses short contact times and an enamel-care formula designed to minimise sensitivity. We always check your teeth and gums first, because whitening should only be done on a healthy mouth.
Before you whiten: what to know
- Fillings, crowns and veneers don't whiten. Whitening only changes the colour of natural teeth. If you have visible restorations, we'll talk you through how to keep your smile looking even.
- Not everyone is suitable. Whitening isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have untreated decay or gum disease.
How long do results last?
Results last longest when you look after them. Brushing twice a day, keeping up regular cleanings, and cutting back on staining drinks and smoking all help your smile stay bright. Many patients add Pearl to their routine six-monthly cleaning to keep their results fresh.
Aftercare
For the first 24 to 48 hours after whitening, your teeth are more prone to staining, so avoid coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces and smoking. Any mild sensitivity is usually temporary and settles quickly.
Does medical aid cover teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment, so most medical aid plans don't cover it. Your scale and polish may still be covered. Our team can check your benefits for you.
